Full Circle Shelters Lodge

Summary

Full Circle Shelters Lodge is a vacation retreat in the mountains of Southwest Puerto Rico. The lodge offers vacationers complete, full service lodging in close proximity to both the forested mountains and the beautiful beaches of the south and west shores of the island. This lodge serves two functions: first as an affordable tropical island vacation experience for couples, families and group gatherings: second, providing lodging spaces to the nonprofit Renewed Hope for "restorative escape" stays for cancer survivors and their families.

Cancer sent us to Puerto Rico for the first time in the winter of 2007. A year after Kathy's diagnosis and treatments, she needed a break and a change of pace. The experience provided a complete turnaround and a new outlook on the future. We later bought land and built our cabin so we could return often for our own dose of renewed hope. Subsequent conversations with fellow cancer survivors, doctors, and other healthcare professionals confirmed that many patients and their families feel the emotional stresses associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment. Cancer is not just the patient's physical condition, it affects the whole body and the whole family.

This lodge is the result of our combined life and work experiences and our goal to help survivors and their families find renewed hope. We need your help as well. Join us, you can help provide hope to cancer survivors.
